American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with 3-4 years of mammography experience and ARRT and BLS certifications for a travel assignment in an acute care setting.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care radiology department specializing in breast imagingPerform both screening and diagnostic mammography, including standard screenings, imaging for implant patients, and procedures using a Hologic prone biopsy table with Bravera biopsy deviceDepartment utilizes Hologic equipment for screening and diagnostic imagingAverage diagnostic caseload is 14 scans per day with screening caseload ranging from 18-25 per shiftUses Epic EMR and Change PACS4x10 hour variable day shifts with start times between 7 : 00 AM and 10 : 00 AM; some 8-hour diagnostic shifts may occurNo weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirementsFloating between screening and diagnostic mammography required2-3 unit-specific orientation shifts in addition to general orientationResponsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic breast imaging, 4D mammograms, and supporting patients with special needsLead technologist support is available but may not always be onsiteScreens are batch-read by radiologists with image review and reporting handled afterNo IV starts requiredProfessional, clean scrubs of any color may be wornNo blocked scheduling or special requests for schedulePermanent employees of the facility must be separated for at least one year before applying for travel assignmentsA 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible\n \n Requirements\n
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in mammographyMust have completed at least 1-2 travel contractsActive ARRT certification with Mammography specialty requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredExperience with Hologic equipment and Epic EMR preferredMust provide two professional references : one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 yearsCopy of active driver’s license requiredActive state license at time of consideration required if applicable\n Benefits\n
