American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele Float position requiring CA licensure, at least three years of nursing experience, and proven telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a hospital Med / Surg Telemetry Float unitMay float between telemetry and med-surg units as neededPatient population includes adolescents through geriatricsTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Every other weekend coverage is requiredNo on-call requirementsTelemetry monitoring is utilized on both unit and remotelyAverage unit census is 36 with 36 bedsResponsibilities include care of a diverse med-surg and telemetry patient population across floating unitsAdministration and management of cardiac and respiratory interventions is requiredMust wear royal blue scrubs per dress codePre-employment modules and specialty-specific training are required before startingNo requested time off allowed within the first two weeks of the contractAll requested time off must be submitted and cannot be changed once submittedFirst time travelers are welcome to applyReturn staff considered on a case by case basisLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of three years nursing experience, including at least two years of telemetry experienceCurrent certifications : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSSMust be able to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmiasSkills required in post-cardiac angiogram, MI care, pre / post cardiac cath and surgeryExperience with central line care, PICC line management, starting IVs, and blood product administrationCompetency in respiratory care, including chest tubes, tracheostomy management, external CPAP / BIPAP, and high flow therapiesMust be capable of managing heparin protocols and cardiac drips (no titration required)Ability to read cardiac strips is mandatoryProfessional references must show high performance ratings\n Benefits\n
