Fiber Drop Technician

Since there are no two homes or buildings alike, installing fiber to the premise (FTTP) requires mental flexibility, physical dexterity, and a willingness to constantly adapt to changing conditions. There is no "business as usual" in this position, you'll arrive on the job each day to find a totally new environment, new questions, new challenges, and new ways to get the job done right. Colorado Residents : Average pay range for this role is $19-$22 per hour depending on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Start your day knowing it probably won't be typical and brand-new tasks not listed below are bound to come up.
• Select routes and place / bury drops for residential fiber plant.
• Operate equipment needed to install buried drops.
• Yard and landscaping restoration.
• Climbing a ladder will be required for aerial drop work.
• Whether flying solo or tackling the day as a team, you'll be expected to work efficiently and productively. Flexibility is key.
• Select materials for use in construction of fiber distribution system.
• Secure necessary locates through 1-call system before work is initiated.
• Document the construction of fiber plant and provide daily and weekly production reports to the Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Provide a safe work environment by being knowledgeable of and enforcing all state, local, federal safety regulations and company safety policies.
• Operate and monitor company-owned vehicle and equipment by inspecting condition daily and maintaining a valid driver's license.
• Restoration work – duties as assigned.
• Ability to accept periodic assignments that involve travel away from immediate home office area based on client needs, business needs and project scope.
• You will be expected to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Other duties as assigned.
