Position Summary

A professional caregiver who works independently under the guidance of the Womens Diagnostic Center Supervisor. The Mammographer is responsible for the performance of screening, diagnostic and invasive breast examinations in accordance with established procedures and policies in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in adult and geriatric patients. Uses independent judgment in determining the need for radiologist intervention and takes additional views if needed. Follows all regulatory guidelines and MQSA guidelines. Ensures accurate billing and file documentation and records information related to exams in the department computer system. Performs other activities in support of clinical team members when not engaged in imaging activities. The Mammographer provides services in a manner consistent with TCMCs mission and values.

Major Position Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
• Performs screening, diagnostic, and invasive breast exams in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Exercises independent judgment in determining the need for additional views or radiologist intervention.
• Ensures accurate billing and file documentation.
• Records exam-related information into computer database systems.
• Supports other clinical areas when not engaged in imaging activities.

Salary / Hourly Wage range is based on experience. To protect the health of patients and staff, all offers are contingent on successful engagement in the TCMC COVID-19 vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception / deferral).
