DCI is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the transportation industry and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include finding and vetting carriers, negotiating shipping costs, coordinating pickup and delivery, tracking shipments in real-time, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining strong relationships with both shippers and carriers.

Key Responsibilities
- Connecting Shippers and Carriers : Finding reliable carriers for loads and matching them with shippers based on needs like freight type and delivery time.
- Negotiating Rates : Securing competitive prices for transportation services by negotiating with carriers on behalf of shippers.
- Managing Logistics : Arranging transportation, planning routes, and coordinating pickup and delivery schedules.
- Shipment Tracking & Updates : Monitoring the progress of shipments, providing real-time updates to shippers, and communicating any delays or issues.
- Problem Resolution : Addressing unexpected problems like weather delays or mechanical issues to ensure the smooth movement of goods.
- Compliance and Documentation : Ensuring adherence to federal regulations and maintaining accurate records and paperwork.
- Relationship Building : Developing and nurturing strong relationships with a network of trusted carriers and shippers through consistent communication.
Qualifications
