Overview of Position : The Lead Lift Operator is responsible for creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming lift experience for guests. This position serves as a guide and support for lift operators, coordinating closely with management. With a focus on both safety and service, the Lead Lift Operator helps foster a positive team environment and ensures every guest enjoys a smooth and positive experience while upholding resort safety standards.

- Oversee daily operations of assigned lifts, ensuring safety protocols and operational standards are followed.
- Supervise and support lift operators, assigning positions and breaks as needed.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for lift operators, guests, ski patrol, and management.
- Report operational issues, safety hazards, and guest incidents promptly to supervisors.
- Train new lift operators in safety procedures, guest service expectations, and operational techniques.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to team members to maintain high performance and safety awareness.
- Ensure all guests are greeted warmly and assisted in a professional manner.
- Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints with patience and professionalism.
- Monitor lift lines and loading / unloading areas for efficiency and guest safety.
- Conduct daily inspections of lifts, ramps, mazes, and signage, ensuring compliance with resort safety standards.
- Respond quickly to lift stoppages and assist in lift evacuations and 10-7s when needed.
- Diagnose basic malfunctions and provide relevant information to mechanics before / upon arrival.
- Maintain accurate records of operational logs, inspections, and incidents.
- Ensure operators properly maintain loading / unloading areas, including shoveling snow, raking ramps, and managing crowd control.

Must be 18 years of age or older2+ years experience as a ski lift operatorSkiing / Snowboarding ability preferredCPR / First Aid certification preferredStrong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating a team, preferably in a winter resort environmentExperience in a guest service or hospitality roleProven knowledge of standard lift operation safety proceduresExcellent verbal communication and problem solving skillsMust be able to maintain a calm environment in stressful, noisy, crowded and emergency situationsWeekend availability requiredPhysical Requirements
Must be able to regularly and consistently lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to safely walk, climb, and navigate uneven terrain with snow and ice-covered hills and surfacesMust be able to work up to 8 hours per day in any outdoor winter weather conditionsAbility to push, pull, stoop, kneel, and reach regularlyWork Schedule and Conditions : We are in the business of providing premier products and experiences for our members and guests. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods. We expect all team members arrive for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to work regardless of inclement weather and time period.
