Job Description

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to support K-12 students in a structured school environment. This full academic year contract role is ideal for educators dedicated to fostering inclusive learning and helping students develop munication skills essential for their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies adapted for diverse learning styles
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and general education teachers to support student success
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to ensure effective learning outes
  • Facilitate munication between students, families, and school staff to promote engagement and understanding of student needs
  • Maintain accurate records and ply with all relevant educational regulations and guidelines

Desired Qualifications and Experience :

  • Certification or licensure in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education or equivalent credential
  • Experience teaching students with hearing impairments from kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Strong knowledge of hearing loss impact on learning and experience with assistive technologies and munication methods such as sign language or oral munication
  • Excellent munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

    Duration : Full academic year contract (NSY)
