Unleash Your Passion for Communication in Stunning Long Beach, California - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us!

Overview

Imagine a career where every word you help a child express and every swallow you assist an adult with contributes to a brighter future. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant community of Long Beach, your expertise will go far beyond just treating communication and swallowing disorders. You'll play a vital role in unlocking potential, rebuilding confidence, and enhancing human connections among individuals of all ages - whether it's that sweet moment a toddler vocalizes their first word or the inspiring story of a senior citizen reclaiming their independence.

This is not just any job; this is an exceptional chance to cater to a varied clientele throughout the lifespan, blending outpatient therapy with the occasional inpatient care. Whether your heart beats for pediatric language milestones, adult neurogenic disorders, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, your journey here will be fulfilling and flexible to your passions.

Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions with a focus on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work collaboratively alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide educational support to patients and families to enhance progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Support clinical services through occasional inpatient therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Keep accurate documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Embrace continuous learning through ongoing education and collaboration with your peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for patients of all ages, combined with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Flexible scheduling options to support work-life balance and a diverse case mix.
  • Pathways for specialization in pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
  • Health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Professional development support and continuing education reimbursement.
  • A nurturing, team-oriented environment committed to quality care and lifelong learning.

A Career That Empowers You - and Those Around You

Here, you'll find colleagues who treat each other like family in a collaborative workspace that values teamwork over competition. Every patient carries a unique story; we'll entrust you with the honor of shaping and sharing it.

Why You'll Adore Life in Long Beach

Who We're Eager to Welcome

We're in search of a compassionate and driven Speech Language Pathologist who recognizes the power of communication. Someone who imagines the challenges faced by a child in silence and sees their bright future filled with expression; who bears witness to the struggle of a stroke survivor and envisions renewed strength and determination.

You may specialize in pediatric services and are ready to expand into adult care, or you could be a neuro-focused clinician eager to integrate early intervention practices. Whatever your specialty, if you're ready to lead with heart and skill, our community is ready to embrace you.

Let's Discover the Power of Words Together

If you believe that speech is profound beyond mere sounds and that therapy transcends the completion of tasks - if you understand the essence of trust, laughter, and the journey to achieve goals - then this may just be the perfect chapter in your career narrative.

Join us as we celebrate and support communication, connection, and the courage to rewrite our stories. Apply today to lend your voice to our team and help others discover theirs.
