Description : Position Summary :

The Truck Driver / Operator responsibility in this position is to operate large diesel trucks to transport harvested blueberries and hazelnuts from the harvest fields to the loading areas. The role also involves operating standard trucks to move equipment and materials as required. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. The role is essential to support organizational goals and model best practices, guided by our values of Excellence, Accountability, Transparency and Stewardship (EATS).

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Operates large diesel trucks to efficiently transport harvested crops (blueberries and hazelnuts) from fields to designated loading areas.
  • Utilizes standard trucks to move farm equipment, supplies, and other materials between fields and storage areas as needed.
  • Conducts routine inspections and basic maintenance of trucks and equipment, ensuring vehicles are in safe working condition.
  • Reports any mechanical issues to the farm management team promptly.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and farm policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including weight limits and load securing.
  • Works closely with farm managers and team members to coordinate transportation schedules and optimize workflow during harvest season.
  • Assists in loading and unloading trucks as necessary.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner and actively promotes company Illness & Injury Prevention Program and farm safety policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge and understanding of farming practices related to blueberries and hazelnuts.
  • Strong knowledge of truck maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials as needed.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends during the harvest season.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and self-driven. Commitment to performing all duties safely and actively promoting the company’s Illness & Injury Prevention Program and farm safety policies.

    • Qualifications :

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience operating large diesel trucks and standard vehicles, preferably in an agricultural setting.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Bilingual verbal and written English / Spanish
