Responsibilities Work in a Level II NICU / Special Care Nursery within an acute care hospital Unit has 10 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 1-3 depending on acuity Patient population includes neonates with low birth weight, prematurity, respiratory and hemodynamic issues, bubble CPAP, tube feeds, and substance exposure Typical drips administered include TPN and lipids 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0730, with every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities May float to Mother Baby unit as needed Epic EMR is used, with orientation provided if needed Respiratory therapist and neonatal nurse practitioner staff are in-house 24 / 7 Scrubs are provided Will provide specialized care to neonates requiring complex interventions and stabilization Expected to attend deliveries and manage care for both high and low risk newborns Friendly unit with active feedback and supportive management RNs are expected to be open to adapting to unit workflows, policies, and procedures Unit-specific orientation includes compliance, Epic EMR training, and supported unit shadow shifts Holiday shifts will rotate with permanent staff No nurse aids or patient care techs on the unit First time travelers with strong NICU experience will be considered Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of Level II NICU experience Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications are required Demonstrated competence in neonatal couplet care and ability to attend high and low risk deliveries Experience stabilizing and transitioning newborns Epic charting experience preferred but not required Must be comfortable using vents, bubble CPAP, and high flow equipment Must submit two professional references (one supervisor within the last year, and one peer or supervisor within the last three years) with dates of employment and rehire eligibility Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628303.
