Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
- Must have an active secret clearance
- Manufacturing assembly work instruction authoring
- Aircraft sub-systems assembly and integration
- Aircraft structures assembly
- Hands-on production / shop floor support (Direct ownership and support of specific operations as well as interface with touch-labor employees)
- Reviews of engineering technical drawings and models
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and author manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.Leverages understanding of materials and processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence.Evaluates performance of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence.Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.Works within a model based engineering environment (3DX). Position requires periodic travel.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :
PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software proficiencyOn vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systemsJet engine integration, service and maintenance familiarityWire harness and interconnect installation / integrationAircraft fuel systemsDevelopment / protype / first article, program support (new product introduction)Metallic part machining working knowledge3DX, Catia V5 and Delmia software usageEvaluation of designs with respect to design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) considerationsManufacturing assembly planningAviation Maintenance Experience, A & P license or similarSTEM type degreeREQUIRED EDUCATION : Accredited HSd / GED
