Firefly Children & Family Alliance is looking for a full-time Director of Foundation Relations . Th e role of the Director of Foundation Relations includes overseeing the preparation of all grant proposals to support the agency's strategic plan. The position also provides supervision and leadership for the Grants Coordinator and post-award management process. Candidate must have excellent organization and written communication skills, a keen understanding of fundraising principles, and an ability to multitask.
You Will : Management (25%)
- Provide ongoing supervision for Grants Coordinator
- Hire, develop, hold accountable and if necessary, terminate Program staff
- Mentor staff through training, inspiration and encouragement
- Hold staff accountable to service standards and ensure the processes are followed according to fundraising code of ethics
Prospect Research (20%)
Research and initiate relationships with new prospective fundersWrite letters of inquiry and solicitationMatch prospective funding sources with institutional prioritiesParticipate in recurring meetings to identify new prospects and strategize about funding prioritiesGrant Writing and Solicitation (40%)
Draft compelling grant proposal narratives for general operating and restricted project grants; assist with drafting corporate proposals as neededWork with accounting and programmatic directors to prepare grant budgets that meet funder guidelinesWork cross-departmentally to assemble and submit applications by due datesVerify that proposals have been received and that appropriate follow-up has occurredStewardship (15%)
Work with grants coordinator project directors to ensure grant-funded projects are on track and that obligations are fulfilled within the terms of the grant agreementSubmit project revisions to funders as necessaryWork cross-departmentally to collect statistical informationYou Have :
At least five years of progressive experience in grants or fundraising-related role and previous supervisory experience required .Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, philanthropy, English, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.GPA or related certification preferred.Understanding of and ability to work effectively across programs.Driven to ensure work quality meets established standards and guidelines.Committed to meeting deadlines.Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals.Demonstrates appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences.Adept at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.Our Benefits :
