The Senior Payments DBA is a senior-level database engineering lead responsible for delivering highly complex, scalable database solutions with a focus on payment systems and large-scale transaction processing. We are seeking a skilled and proactive DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize our organization's database systems. The ideal candidate will ensure data integrity, performance, security, and availability across multiple environments, supporting both development and production systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on DBA with a proven track record in AWS cloud based hosting, distributed systems, and modern database administration practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems
• Monitor database performance and proactively address issues related to tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through backups, replication, and failover strategies
• Implement and maintain database security policies, including access controls and encryption
• Collaborate with development teams to support application integration and schema design
• Perform regular audits and updates to ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages
• Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements
