RSL Fiber Systems, LLC has an opening for a senior level engineer to support several development programs, including programs for the U.S. Navy. The company manufactures advanced fiber optic lighting, solid state lighting, and remote distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) systems for military vessels, hazardous locations, and industrial environments. The senior engineer will work across technical disciplines, supervise a junior engineer, and the position may grow as the team expands.

Base pay range

$90,000.00 / yr - $120,000.00 / yr

Qualifications

Education : EE, ME, Physics, or other engineering / STEM discipline degree.

Experience : 5 – 10 years in industry or prior military experience in related fields.

Responsibilities

• DFOS equipment configuration and programming.
• LED, laser diode, and OLED lighting devices design and testing.
• System testing planning and implementation.
• Sensing cable assemblies design and manufacturing.
• Illumination fiber optic cable assemblies design and manufacturing.
• Design of parts and components as needed by development efforts.
• Solid Works CAD knowledge.
• Support installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance at U.S. Navy sites.
• Writing proposals and reports and supporting senior technical staff.
• Presenting at technical symposia and engineering meetings.
