Position Overview :
The primary role of the aircraft deicer is to remove ice from the aircraft. The individual in this position inspects the aircraft for ice and for remaining frozen contamination after the deicing has been performed. He or she sprays the airplane down with the deicing fluid, which is usually made of glycol.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to) :
Ensure a safe environment during the de / anti-icing operation and make sure all company policies andprocedures are being followed correctly
Uphold and follow the duties related to de / anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlinesand IDS, including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination
Participate in the pre-planning for the de / anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicingequipment with fuel or glycol)
Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues havebeen logged and reported to maintenance, and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are
followed
