Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join their team on a remote contract basis. The successful candidate will focus on creating high-quality documentation, including business processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The contract is for approximately 3 months, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, although a part-time schedule may be considered for the right candidate. The role is remote, but the candidate must be based on the West Coast.

Responsibilities include :

  • Develop and maintain detailed business process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and validate information for accurate documentation.
  • Utilize advanced tools such as Microsoft Word and enterprise library systems to create, edit, and manage technical content.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to organizational standards in all written materials.
  • Work as a fully integrated member of the document control team to support organizational goals.
  • Proactively identify gaps in existing documentation and propose solutions to address them.
  • Maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams to ensure timely updates to documents.
  • Adapt to feedback and revisions quickly to deliver high-quality and precise content.

Requirements :

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, with expertise in creating business process documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, and Snag-It.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce error-free documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with technical writing best practices and standards.
