Overview
A growing financial services organization is creating a new senior-level role to lead its enterprise data and analytics strategy. This individual will be responsible for shaping how data is governed, analyzed, and leveraged across the company to improve decision-making, customer insight, and operational efficiency.
This is a newly created position focused on the business side of data strategy rather than programming. The ideal candidate will unify scattered reporting functions, modernize data governance practices, and define the roadmap for analytics and AI adoption across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Direction
Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Lead efforts to standardize reporting and analytics across business lines, ensuring consistent data definitions and practices.
Evaluate and recommend visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau , and drive enterprise adoption of the selected platform.
Create a long-term roadmap for data architecture and analytics platforms, including exploration of cloud-based solutions such as Snowflake , Azure , or Google Cloud .
Data Governance & AI Oversight
Build and oversee a governance framework that ensures data accuracy, quality, and compliance across all departments.
Lead the development and enforcement of AI governance , including intake processes, documentation standards, and testing protocols.
Collaborate with IT, Risk, and Compliance to manage data privacy, regulatory adherence, and third-party integrations.
Establish a cross-functional Data & AI Task Force to drive collaboration and consistency across business units.
Leadership & Collaboration
Prior experience of leading a team or management experience.
Partner with executives and department leaders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and innovation.
Promote a culture of data literacy, transparency, and responsible AI adoption across the enterprise.
Analytics & Innovation
Translate complex data into actionable insights that support business strategy, product development, and customer experience.
Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, data analytics, and automation to guide strategic planning.
Serve as a key advisor to leadership on data strategy and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
8+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, governance, or strategy within financial services or another regulated industry (banking, insurance, healthcare, etc.).
Hands-on experience with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud data environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Snowflake).
Strong understanding of AI technologies and governance considerations.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills able to influence executives and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated experience leading projects or small teams in a data-driven environment.
Preferred
Bachelors degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field (Masters preferred).
Background in data change control, testing documentation, and procedural governance .
Knowledge of core financial systems and data models a plus.
Work Environment
Remote-first role open to candidates based in Pennsylvania or Ohio .
Occasional travel (a few times per year) for leadership meetings or cross-team collaboration.
Optional office access available in multiple regional locations for those who prefer a hybrid setup.
