Daytime Security - Cultivation Facility
Position Summary :
This is a full-time position that will operate as daytime security (unarmed) for commercial cannabis cultivation at our Frederick Maryland facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong observation skills, sound judgment, the ability to communicate clearly, timeliness, and cleanliness, while also displaying honesty and integrity and most importantly, the ability to follow instructions. Maintaining company standards of productivity and decency will be imperative, while also displaying creative problem solving and critical thinking. This position will be badged by the Maryland Cannabis Administration (MCA), which requires fingerprinting and passing a background check by the candidate. The description listed below represents normal tasks and duties for the position. Other responsibilities may be assigned to accommodate the needs of the business. Experience in cannabis is not necessary. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Position Tasks (include but not limited to) :
Ensuring the safety of employees and authorized visitors.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Keep premises secure by routine foot patrols throughout the day
Monitoring multiple screens of surveillance cameras.
Inspect building for open doors or unsecured access points.
Be able to communicate with the public when called upon.
Welcome all authorized visitors and maintain log of all pertinent information.
Remove unauthorized visitors from the premises.
Monitor burglar and fire alarms systems.
Receive incoming packages and freight from various delivery companies.
Maintain daily logs for various processes throughout the facility.
Be able to stand, sit and walk in some combination for entire shifts.
Performance Requirements :
Being reliable while maintaining punctuality and creating a consistent presence.
Ability to communicate clearly and honestly.
Possess a calm demeanor while handling diverse situations simultaneously.
Ability to sometimes work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Use of computer systems, programs and applications.
Problem-solving and decision-making within the framework of a team
Ability to adapt to an evolving industry in an expanding organization.
Basic understanding of local, state, and federal laws.
Adherence to state cannabis laws and to OSHA requirements.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
Must be at least 21 years of age with valid proof of identification.
Must be able to pass a fingerprinting and background check with the MCA.
Typical Working Conditions :
Daily work is performed in a busy cannabis cultivation facility, which can include exposure to bright lights, loud fans / filtration systems, and fluctuating temperatures. Daily work includes varying lengths of standing, sitting, and walking as a consistent security presence of the entire facility and surrounding grounds. Employees will be exposed to the normal chemicals found in any crop production facility (i.e. fertilizers). Proper PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times when necessary.
