Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for diverse patient groups, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Design tailored treatment plans that target both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Work closely with a network of professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians to formulate integrated care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and speech therapy interventions to ensure seamless treatment experiences.
  • Document findings and progress in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay abreast of advancements within the field.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Skills

  • Expert in evidence-based practices across all age groups, with robust knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and the broader care team.
  • Ability to adjust therapy strategies to meet the unique cultural and linguistic backgrounds of patients.
  • Proficient clinical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards.
