POSITION OVERVIEW

Performs tasks related to the distribution duties for the management of whole blood and blood components, in compliance with OneBlood standard operating procedures. May be required to perform duties related to other Biologics functions including manufacturing and transportation of blood, blood products and specimens.

AVAILABLE SCHEDULES

This is a full-time position that will work 12 : 00 PM - 8 : 30 PM Friday - Tuesday.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

Training Schedule : Candidate must be available to attend training in Charlotte Monday - Friday 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 00 PM for a period of 3-4 weeks.

(Based upon when hours are worked positions may include a shift and weekend differential of $1.50 - $4.50 per hour.)

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :

High School diploma or equivalent and proficient computer skills. Prior customer service, laboratory, blood bank manufacturing or logistics experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS :

Current and valid driver’s license in good standing required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Tasks involve the performance of moderately physically demanding work for extended periods of time, involving standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and / or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS :

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

Functions are regularly performed inside and / or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances. Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens and freezers at below-freezing temperatures (-30F / -35C). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
