We are looking for an experienced Property Accountant to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations for a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficient financial management of real estate assets while working in a dynamic industry. This is an onsite position, free parking is provided. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 9am-2pm.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Handle the coding of accounts payable invoices and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Manage daily cash flow operations, including vendor support and communication with property owners.
- Generate monthly financial statements and conduct variance analyses to track performance against budgets.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and facilitate effective communication between tenants and vendors.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and conduct monthly reviews of actuals versus projections.
- Support rent collection processes, including invoicing and tracking tenant payments.
- Maintain and update tenant records and lease documentation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in property management or real estate accounting operations.
- Proficiency in using Yardi Breeze software for property and financial management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with tenants, vendors, and property owners.
- Familiarity with residential and commercial lease structures, including their financial implications.
- Expertise in accrual accounting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting for both residential and commercial real estate portfolios.
