Position Summary
Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in diagnostic studies utilizing a variety of radioisotope equipment. Prepare radioactive materials and calculate doses to be administered.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription.
- Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to produce photographic or computer images.
- Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of physician.
- Produce a computer-generated image for interpretation by a physician.
- Process cardiac function studies, using computer
- Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety procedures.
- Record and process results of procedures.
- Prepare stock radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients.
- Order all required Radio-pharmaceuticals
- Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment.
- Maintain all Daily, Quarterly, Monthly QC
- Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history.
- Measure radioactivity of patient, using scanners, Geiger counters, scintillometers, and other laboratory equipment.
- Maintain all books and records required by the State of Texas for the RAM lisc. / conducting the state inspections and are held accountable for.
- Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Requires High School Diploma or equivalentCNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist from the NMTCB) orR.T.(N)(ARRT)Texas license (RMT)Minimum of 1+ years experience in Nuclear MedicineExcellent Customer Service skillsBilingual (English / Spanish) a plusLANGUAGE / MATH / REASONING ABILITY
