American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift PCU / Stepdown position with telemetry in a Level 1 Trauma acute care setting requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active NE or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 55-bed PCU / Stepdown unit on the 4th Floor East Wing of an acute care hospitalAdult patient population, with rare cases of patients aged 15 and olderCommon diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, and weaknessRN to patient ratio is 1 : 4 for both day and night shiftsHandles 12-hour night shifts (1830-0630) with every other weekend requiredUtilizes Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps, with mechanical lifts available in every other roomFloating may be required, typically to med-surg areas depending on needNursing team supported by CNAs, charge nurse, educator, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OTResponsible for managing telemetry, administering common PCU drips and medications including PCA pumps, cardizem, and insulinArtificial nails are prohibited for all nursing staff in direct patient careScrub color is navy blue for RNsMust pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higherEmphasis on strong teamwork, hourly rounding, and patient responsivenessHoliday coverage may be required per unit guidelines\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years recent PCU / Stepdown nursing experience requiredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (all active, not pending)Telemetry competency requiredEpic EMR experience preferredMust submit a copy of driver's license for address verificationMust provide two references : one supervisor reference from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the past 3 yearsCandidates may not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity, within the past yearCandidate's permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver's license\n Benefits\n
