Pelican Landing is looking for an Assisted Living Resident Caregiver to join their Resident Care team! As a key member of the team, you will ensure the day-to-day care of our residents is provided in a sensitive, professional, and effective manner, as well as collaborate with the dining and community program to ensure best quality of care for all residents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Assist residents with their personal care and activities of daily living as assigned and as requested by residentsPerform daily housekeeping tasks as assigned using established procedures and standardsReview and participate in 24 Hour Reports, Daily Logs, Shift Cross-over Reports and verbal reports as neededAssist residents to and from scheduled programsPromote personal choices, independence and spiritual needs as neededPerform laundry duties as assignedRespond to resident emergency calls in a timely mannerEnsure compliance with new resident care protocolsReport all resident changes in condition immediately to the Wellness Nurse or Resident Wellness DirectorAssure that established infection control practices are maintainedReport all accidents and incidents as soon as possible to supervisor, no matter how minorMaintain the confidentiality of residents’ personal care informationHonor the residents’ personal and property rightsBe knowledgeable and prepared for emergency situations including disasters, fire and other emergenciesMust be in company uniform and resident ready at all timesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources and outside contactsAble to make independent decisionsMust be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring mannerMust possess a passion to work with and around senior citizensKnowledge of customer service principles and practicesEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
High School Diploma or equivalentCertified Nursing Assistant / Home Health Aid preferred, but not requiredLicense / Certificate for Medication Assistance (if applicable) as needed per state regulations preferredCPR certification / First Aid certification preferredEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Experience working with seniors preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position :Able to stand or walk 75% of the dayAble to concentrate with frequent interruptionsAble to work under stress and in emergency situationsAble to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing and graspingAble to talk and hear effectively in order to convey messages, instructions and information to residents and team membersOccasionally lift / carry up to 50 pounds.Full Time - Overnight 11 pm to 7 am
