This Lead Mechanical Engineer position is vital for the MultiMFRFS radar product line based in McKinney, TX, and requires your expertise on-site.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Driving technical and programmatic execution (performance, cost, schedule) for mechanical engineering across various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within the MFRFS portfolio.
  • Assessing mechanical engineering staffing needs and collaborating with functional leadership to fulfill those needs.
  • Engaging in a team environment, utilizing CAD tool Creo Parametric to create innovative mechanical subsystems.
  • Communicating issues transparently with program and functional leadership and engaging resources to ensure rapid resolutions.
  • Facilitating integration across IPTs to ensure successful system design, production, and execution.
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities associated with program mitigation plans.
  • Acting as the technical authority for the system technical data package (TDP) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participating in Engineering Proposal Reviews, system / project level Technical Review Boards, and Change Control Boards.
  • Collaborating on program growth and technology strategies with technical leadership.
  • Overseeing mechanical scope for new business proposals, ensuring robust technical baselines and risk assessments.

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for experience.
  • Integrated Product Team Level Training and Certification.
  • Experience leading Engineering Proposal Reviews and writing TINA-compliant Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
  • Proficiency in baselining and reporting the status of Earned Value program metrics.
  • Experience across radar program lifecycles, including development, production, and sustainment phases.
  • Demonstrable capability in resolving technical challenges across multiple functional organizations.
  • Experience as the mechanical design lead for radar line-replaceable units (LRUs).
  • Knowledge of ANSI / ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Active U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier and production facility visits.
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Advanced degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in factories supporting full-rate production of radar components.
  • Background in working with suppliers of machined parts, including castings and electronics.
  • Expertise in the manufacturing and tolerancing of radar mechanical systems.
  • Experience managing technical data packages within Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.

    The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD, based on experience and factors such as work location and responsibilities. Hired applicants may be eligible for various benefits, including medical, dental, and 401(k) plans. The specific benefits will depend on the business unit.
