Software Engineer, Android Core Product - Tucson, USA
The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Speechifys text-to-speech products help millions of users turn text into audio to read faster, read more, and remember more. Our Android app is a core part of this experience and we are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to support our growing user base and work on exciting projects that move the product forward.
We are a flat organization that values technical excellence, results, strong communication, and a collaborative approach. Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week.
Responsibilities
- Owning major features and working closely with design to deliver high-quality features inside the app
- Shape the future of the Android team
- Own, maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features
- Participate in discussions across Product, Design, and Engineering
- Review pull requests and support other teammates
- Handle critical issues or cope with unexpected challenges
- Take ownership of feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team
