Job Summary
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Sonographer provides professional clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care. This role involves performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, ensuring accurate imaging, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. The traveler may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment; report any malfunctions promptly.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records in Epic EMR.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control standards.
- Participate in same-day interviews and onboarding process.
Schedule Details
- Holidays : Required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving).
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of previous Sonographer experience.
- At least 1 completed travel contract.
- Proficiency in Epic EMR.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
Education & Certifications
- Required : State License (Iowa) – must be active at submission.
- BLS Certification.
- Preferred : Additional specialty certifications (ARDMS, etc.).
Additional Requirements
- Must have a taxable residence address more than 60 miles from the market.
- Proof of taxable address required (Driver's License, Utility Bill, Lease, etc.).
- References : Minimum of 1 supervisory reference required at submission.
