About the job Housing Navigator, Recuperative Facility LA & El Monte
We are currently seeking a Housing Navigator for our Recuperative Facility located in San Diego, California. As a Housing Navigator, you will be responsible for assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in finding and securing stable housing options. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong understanding of the housing resources available in the San Diego area.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct initial assessments of clients to identify their housing needs and barriers to securing stable housing
- Develop and maintain relationships with local housing providers to identify available housing options for clients
- Assist clients in completing housing applications and gathering necessary documentation
- Provide ongoing support and advocacy for clients throughout the housing application process
- Collaborate with case managers and other team members to create individualized housing plans for clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and housing outcomes
- Stay informed about current housing policies and resources to effectively assist clients
- Participate in community outreach and networking events to promote housing services and build relationships with potential housing partners
- Attend regular team meetings and trainings to enhance knowledge and skills related to housing navigation
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager
Qualifications :
Strong understanding of housing resources and policies in the San Diego areaAbility to build and maintain relationships with housing providers and community partnersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working with diverse populations and addressing complex needsBachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is helpful but not a must.Ability to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency in Microsoft Office and database managementBilingual in English and Spanish preferredValid driver's license and reliable transportationWe offer Health Benefits for full time employees after the first day of the following month of hire- medical, dental and vision. 401K eligibility is the one-year anniversary.
