OSP Lineman

Job Description

Position Summary

The OSP (Outside Plant) Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial and underground fiber optic and copper cable systems. This role involves working at heights, handling delicate fiber cables, and ensuring network reliability through precise installation and testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation : String and secure new fiber optic cables on poles, ensuring proper tension and support.
• Maintenance & Repair : Inspect for wear and tear, re-tension cables, and repair damaged lines to prevent service interruptions.
• Splicing & Termination : Join new cable sections and connect lines to service points using specialized tools and techniques.
• Testing : Perform signal integrity tests, pinpoint issues, and verify compliance with industry standards.
• Safety : Adhere to strict safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and company policies at all times.
• Operate bucket trucks, diggers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders accurately.
• Respond to outages and emergency repairs as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00 / hr.
