Unit Summary
The Victim Advocacy and Services Unit supports crime victims and their families by providing information, connection to local services, and direct assistance throughout the criminal justice process. The Unit is committed to ensuring victims know their rights and are treated with the utmost respect. Staff and program managers run multiple programs within VASU that serve survivors and provide information to the public. Central to the Unit is its program certification duties for domestic violence and sexual assault programs, human trafficking programs, and batterer's intervention programs across Oklahoma. VASU also provides training for law enforcement officers, prosecutors, batterer intervention facilitators, and victim advocates.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the VASU Director, the Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP) Pilot Program Development Consultant will support the development and implementation of the Oklahoma Attorney General's Pilot Program certification process. Duties include assisting with administrative rulemaking, program infrastructure-building, stakeholder coordination, pilot program technical assistance, and program application and evaluation development and review. This position is temporary and will last 3 years.
