Purpose :

This position is accountable for ensuring accurate and timely processing of contracts, amendments / hierarchies and appointments in compliance with state and federal licensing rules and regulations. The incumbent must provide customer service oriented contracting services to the agents, carriers and fellow employees of Liberty Bankers Insurance Group.

Job Responsibilities :

1. Review and process independent agent contracts through ePortal submission in a timely and efficient manner.

2. Enter and maintain agent information including personal data, contract type, commissions and licenses in the administration system.

3. Create and maintain an electronic filing system for all agent-related documentation.

4. Evaluate agent’s prior history with any of the company’s entities to determine eligibility for rehire or transfer.

5. Works with Carriers, GA’s, MGA’s, Office Managers and management to obtain appropriate support or release letters.

6. Evaluates prospective agents’ qualifications to represent the company through criminal and credit background review, as well as reviewing any state licensing regulatory issues; judgment is used to determine what requirements may be needed to process negative information.

7. Evaluates and interprets state insurance regulatory requirements to ensure that all agents are in compliance.

8. Notifies field force of changes in state regulations concerning licensing for life, supplemental health, annuity, long term care, indexed annuities and variable products.

9. Ensures systems are correctly coded to reflect agent’s licensing status, commissions to be paid.

10. Maintain communication with management regarding developments within areas of assigned responsibilities.

11. Participates in cross-training within the unit.

12. Ensure quality and time service standards are met.

13. Maintain compliance with all standards, controls, policies and practices.

14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience / Background

Minimum Requirements :

  • Experience in licensing and contracting independent insurance agents in a home office or insurance agency
  • Education 2-year college degree or equivalent work experience
  • Well organized with attention to detail
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Experience using PDF editing features
  • PC skills to include Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • LOMA courses or related life insurance experience / training preferred
  • Ability to meet established deadlines; must be able to work independently as well as being a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong interpersonal skills a must
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
