Job descriptionMust start on 12 / 15 5 : 1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends One call shift per 6-week schedule required Weekend coverage required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday / Sunday is considered a weekend shift) 40 hours of orientation required Care for adult and geriatric patients with daily census of 10-13 patients 13 rooms and 13 beds on unit Patient diagnoses include post-op, ortho, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and URO cases Med-surg unit with no telemetry monitoring or cardiovascular drips Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS 2 years of experience in service line required Travel experience preferred Charting system : Allscripts (Altera experience preferred but not required) Must be at least 150 miles from facility (may consider candidates 50+ miles on case-by-case basis) Facility conducts mandatory drug screen upon arrival including marijuana testing Must complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting offer Hard document due date : Thursday 2pm CST prior to start Non-billable modules completed during orientation (average 6-8 hours) Flu vaccine required with medical / religious exemptions only Skills include accessing / managing ports, blood product administration, chest tubes, colostomy care, CPAP / BiPAP, feeding tube management, heparin administration, insulin management, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and IV management Referral bonus
