We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer - Indexable Tools to join our team and provide expert technical support, product application guidance, and training for indexable tools.

Position Summary

The Application Engineer serves as the technical expert for indexable cutting tools-supporting end-users, machine tool builders, and distribution partners. This role combines hands-on application expertise with customer-facing engagement, training, and field testing. A successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, balances technical knowledge with strong communication skills, and enjoys solving problems while on the road.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide expert technical support to customers, field sales engineers, and distributors on tooling applications and best practices.
  • Conduct technical seminars, training sessions, and product demonstrations to share knowledge and promote KSPT-G solutions.
  • Travel 50-70% of the time to customer sites, machine tool builders, and trade events to deliver hands-on support and influence product application.
  • Report test results, case studies, and cost savings achieved through product recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Kyocera Corporate, designers, and product teams to develop new products, support phase-outs, and improve applications.
  • Lead and organize field testing activities and provide market trend insights.
  • Support turn-key business services including tooling, time studies, and technical consultation.

What You Bring :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and extensive industry experience).
  • 5+ years of tooling application experience, preferably with indexable tools.
  • Strong understanding of cutting tool design, grades, CNC machining, inspection equipment, and blueprint / CAD interpretation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve application challenges.
  • Confident presenter and trainer, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic CAM software; familiarity with statistical and geometric concepts.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel extensively.
