Program Overview : The Marketing & Communications Department promotes the work the Settlement as a whole, and its programs individually, through online and print publications, traditional media relations and social media, digital communication including website and email, signage, and public events. The program's goals are to maintain the integrity of the organization's brand; promote its excellent reputation; recruit participants and donors to Henry Street; and communicate the organization's mission, goals, and history to the general public and policymakers.
Job Summary : The Senior Associate, Digital Communications & Marketing, plays a critical role in a busy department where no two days are ever the same. The individual is an energetic self-starter, who independently partners with programs throughout the organization to promote mission, services, and events, and to recruit participants. This individual oversees Henry Street's social media and e-marketing presence, advertising and reporting on Henry Street events, designing marketing materials, advising on web design, and maintaining publications and photo archives. A successful candidate is a flexible collaborator who can balance competing priorities and serve as an ambassador for the organization.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree requiredStrong belief in and desire to promote the work of the agencyThree to five years of digital communication experience, particularly social media and e-marketingProficiency with InDesign, PhotoShop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Wordpress, Canva, Word and Excel / Google SheetsExperience with MailChimp or similar email software.Excellent writing skillsProfessional graphic design experience creating flyers, postcards, and social graphicsAbility to shoot and edit photographs and videosAbility to take direction and work independentlyA can-do positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humorSolutions oriented and highly organizedSome evening and weekend work requiredSpanish proficiency a plusResponsibilities :
Lead Henry Street's social media program, including content creation (video, photos, graphics), scheduling, interface with multiple program-specific accounts, and overall strategyLead Henry Street's email marketing, including weekly internal newsletter, external eblasts, and frequent all-team notesEnsure consistency and coherence of agency's branding, including signage and displays in 18 locationsContribute to the strategic direction of communication operations, with emphasis on program recruitment, fundraising, and history programmingManage and design pages on agency's fundraising and ticketing platform, GoFundMePro (Classy)Design, source, and order promotional materialsReport and write stories about Henry Street events for internal and external print newsletters and the agency's websiteShoot and edit photographs and short videosCollaborating with Development on creation of fundraising campaignsMaintain online photo archives and press clipping filesMaintain community relationships and support community outreach online and in personEdit and proofread materialsManage outside translation vendorsOversee Henry Street mini store in collaboration with front deskBuild strong relationships with all departments to understand and execute marketing needsCollaborate with The People Team and Executive Office to conduct internal communicationsOther duties as assigned by supervisorEssential Physical Job Function :
