Candidate may come into contact with patients impacted by infectious diseases. All employees must have the flu vaccine, with no exemptions allowed. Description : The Telemetry Registered Nurse will be responsible for the care of patients with varying diagnoses. This occurs while they are boarding in the emergency department and awaiting bed placement in an inpatient unit. The nurse is required to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 4 during day shifts. The expected daily census is approximately 125 patients, with visits around the same number. Patient care will include working with adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The role involves the administration of blood products, cardiac telemetry monitoring, and management of central lines. Familiarity with isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management is essential. The nurse will also be involved in the interpretation of arterial blood gases and management of various medical conditions including renal failure and seizure disorders. Wound care, including the use of wound vacs, is also a key responsibility of the position.
