Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: New Orleans, LA 70115 - Garden District and Uptown neighborhoods
• Healthcare Setting: Level 3 NICU, 16 beds
• Contract Type: Travel respiratory therapist job
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1520 - $1640

Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a NICU setting (no first-time travelers)
• Active Louisiana or Compact State Respiratory Therapist license (must be in hand upon submission or applied for within 72 hours of signing)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (AHA certifications only)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• 2 Manager/Supervisor references required for clearance (not needed for submission)

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to neonates in a Level 3 NICU environment
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
• Operate and monitor advanced respiratory therapy equipment; deliver emergency interventions as needed
• Accurately document patient care and progress per hospital and healthcare regulations
• Participate in emergency team assignments during facility emergency events
• Ensure compliance with all hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
