We are partnering with the Augusta‑Richmond County Consolidated Government to find a senior executive who will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all financial operations. The Chief Finance Officer ensures fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and long‑term financial planning aligned with the Board of Commission’s goals. The CFO reports directly to the County Administrator and is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Commission.
Augusta‑Richmond County has an approved FY2025 total budget of $1.3 billion, with 2,800 full‑time equivalent (FTE) positions across all funds. The Augusta Finance Department operates on an estimated $2.8 million budget and includes 38 FTEs.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of the government’s $1.5 billion annual budget.
- Oversee accounting, treasury, payroll, and risk management operations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and all applicable financial regulations.
- Direct financial reporting, audits, and investment strategies.
- Supervise key finance personnel, including the Deputy Director of Finance and Accounting Manager.
- Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA is preferred.CPA or CPFO certification is required.Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in government finance managing a multimillion‑dollar agency.At least 3 years in a direct supervisory role.Must be bondable and possess a valid GA or SC driver’s license within 30 days of hire.Key Competencies
