Step into Precision : Your Second-Shift Career in CNC Milling

Join a well-established manufacturer in a contract-to-hire role with long-term potential. We have two openings for experienced CNC milling professionals who can set up, edit, and operate equipment to deliver precision components to exact engineering specs.

Your Shift at a Glance

  • Schedule : Monday–Thursday, 3 : 00 PM – 1 : 00 AM (Second Shift)
  • Overtime : Fridays as needed
  • Pay : $20–25 per hour, depending on experience

What Your Day Looks Like

You arrive at 3 PM, review the job traveler and 3D model, load the program, verify tooling, and make the G / M-code edits needed to hit tight tolerances. Throughout the evening, you rotate between setups and production runs, validating dimensions with precision gauges and collaborating with engineers to refine manufacturability. You finish by documenting results, cleaning your station, and prepping machines for the next run.

Core Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling equipment with Fadal , Haas , Siemens , and Heidenhain controls
  • Create and modify G - and M -code; perform offsets, tool changes, and light programming edits
  • Perform milling, drilling, tapping, turning, and deburring operations as needed
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts
  • Use CAD viewers to analyze 3D models; partner with engineers on design and process improvements
  • Operate air tools, forklifts, and 5- and 10-ton overhead cranes safely
  • Conduct in-process inspections to verify tolerances and surface finish requirements
  • Choose, install, and optimize tooling for cycle time, finish, and tool life
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and sustain a clean, safe work area
  • Work overtime as required
  • Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges
  • Comfort with decimals, fractions, and unit conversions
  • Competent with Windows-based PCs
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Experience with Fusion 360 or BobCAD v27 a plus
  • Reliable, honest, and accountable work habits
  • Background in CNC and manual machining
  • Solid understanding of machining processes and tool / die manufacturing
