Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant, E&S Transportation. The position is in our Alpharetta office, reporting into the SVP, E&S Casualty, Transportation.

Our seasoned U.S. Excess Casualty - E&S team applies significant expertise and creativity to complete placements. Leveraging our relationships with appointed wholesale brokers, we provide meaningful capacity, a consistent underwriting approach and timely coverage and claims responses.

What you'll be doing :

• Assist underwriters with quote, binder, endorsement, and policy issuance workflows and data entry into Guidewire Policy Center
• Participate in the creation and development of the team's underwriting workflows and processes through direction and sharing of best practices
• Provide thorough analysis of submission data and present in a clear format through our provided Underwriting Rating sheet on request
• Work with assigned producers to obtain all required policy information
• Prepare and follow up on renewal policy information in a timely manner as required
• Code, bill, register, process and distribute insurance binders and polices within processing standards established by management
• Prepare all policies in accordance with final binders inclusive of review by underwriting staff
• Implement and maintain a field service reputation that is recognized as superior in the industry
• Review and analyze facultative reinsurance certificates as determined by management
• Liaise with Operations, Submission Clearance, and Central Underwriting Services department on various activities they assist our team with.
