Registered Dental Hygienist (Chicago)

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform dental cleanings, including the removal of plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth
• Conduct oral health assessments and record patient dental histories
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
• Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay
• Assist the dentist during procedures such as exams, fillings, crowns, extractions, and other treatments
• Prepare and organize dental instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures
• Provide patients with oral hygiene education, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional guidance
• Offer post-treatment care instructions to ensure proper recovery and maintenance
• Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment following established infection control protocols
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized clinical environment, including treatment rooms and sterilization areas
• Ensure all instruments and equipment are functioning properly and safely
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charting
• Welcome and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and clear communication
• Schedule appointments and manage front desk tasks when required
• Certification as a Dental Hygienist or Dental Assistant (as required by state regulations)
• Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and operating dental equipment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of dental software systems (preferred)
• Commitment to patient care and clinical excellence
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
