Introduction
Under the direction of the Health, Safety & Security Manager, the Health and Safety Specialist will assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing all Four Roses organizational safety programs. The individual will be responsible for fostering a people-centered culture and achieving a zero-incident state through accident prevention, policy enforcement, auditing, and training. This individual will work with the team to ensure the safety of all team members and any visitors to Four Roses facilities. This position conducts job duties in a manner that demonstrates a strong food safety culture which ensures the safety and quality of our products.
Summary / Objective
The Safety & Health Specialist will assist in the implementation, coordination, and communication of all safety programs across the company. This individual will provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem-solving abilities to help develop outstanding safety programs and improve the overall safety culture.

Drive Safety Culture
Promote a strong safety culture by leading with outstanding performance, thorough investigations, follow-up actions, and continuous improvement by implementing root cause countermeasures and action plans.Perform site visits and audits to assess and address safety, health, and facility security concerns.Coordinate efforts to mitigate Identified hazards and recommend preventative solutions to the Health, Safety and Security Manager.Gather and review COI Documents, Training Records, and the work of contractors on company property to ensure compliance with safety and health standards and contractual agreements.Conduct job hazard risk assessments to support ongoing efforts to compile dataProvide regular written reports and other production-related results and updates to the Health, Safety & Security Manager.Recommend safety culture encouragement programs and periodically review them to ensure they achieve the desired results.Ensure that buildings or products comply with safety regulations, especially after inspections that require changes.Ensure that all emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and emergency alarms, are regularly inspected and maintained.Safety Training and Development
Provide training sessions for team members on emergency response protocols, including the use of emergency equipment, evacuation routes, and first aidUtilize regulatory requirements to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions in the workplace and recommend best safety practices.Execute safety training programs to enhance team member and management awareness of potential safety hazards.Lead new hire safety orientation programEmergency Response & Preparedness
Act as an FRD first responder to assess and coordinate medical emergency needs.First point of contact for incident / injury responseLeads post-accident screening process including coordination with 3rd party test facility.Establish and maintain relationships with local emergency services, such as fire departments and medical responders, to ensure a coordinated response during emergencies.Organize and conduct regular emergency drills to ensure all team members are familiar with the procedures and can respond effectively in real situations.Accident Investigations and Workers Compensation
Notify Health, Safety and Security Manager upon notification of accidents, incidents or injuries.Investigate accidents and injuries (recordable incidents, near misses, first aid cases, and hazardous conditions) to determine their causes and assess if incidents were avoidable or preventable in the future.Collect all incident reports and accident documentation and surveillance footage, if availableIdentify root causes and recommend to Health, Safety and Security Manager corrective actions for all accidents, injuries, and near messes.Interview management and team members to understand work environments and incidents that led to accidents or injuries.Assist with proper record completion and submission.Assist in implementing corrective actions related to incidents and ensure "lessons learned" are communicated throughout the company and incorporated into the safety program if necessary.Oversee workers’ compensation claims and case management processes to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and compliance standards.Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the light duty program, facilitating timely return-to-work plans for injured employees.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure effective communication, documentation, and resolution of cases.Analyze trends and outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement in injury prevention and recovery support.Compliance, Policy and Procedure
Implement company OSHA programsAssist with developing, interpreting, and revision of safety procedures & policies, including emergency response plans.Regularly review and update emergency response plans and procedures based on feedback from drills, actual incidents, and changes in regulationsCollaborate with the Health, Safety & Security Manager to distribute and communicate these policies, ensuring adherence to all provisions.Stay up to date on all industry practices and standards, with knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements (federal, state, and local) and the legal ramifications of non-compliance.Team Member Relations
Foster positive relationships with both union and non-union team members.Assist with team member safety communications to include weather alerts, safety standdowns, and other communication as need.Assist with identifying and organizing team member engagement activities such as the Kona Ice truckEngage team member and the leadership team in the safety process.Organize and lead safety committee meetings, develop committee agendas, and complete reports and documentation as directed.Support the overall Health and Safety needs and objectives of the department and organization.Other Job Duties 10%Stay abreast of current and emerging technical and professional aspects of this position.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThe Health and Safety Specialist will have no direct reports. The Health and Safety Specialist will report to the Health, Safety, and Security Manager.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, will work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use; frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular). Could be exposed to infrequent fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration as could be expected in any OSHA compliant operation and may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the distillery / warehouse / bottling environment.
TravelTravel will be required between Kentucky locations (Lawrenceburg and Cox's Creek). Travel expected to be 2 days at alternate site on average.
