Job description

Position Overview

A community hospital in eastern North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology Oncology physician to provide both inpatient and outpatient coverage on a long-term locum tenens basis. The schedule is Monday through Friday with no nights, weekends, or call , offering work-life balance in a collegial environment. Providers must be available for orientation the day before the first scheduled shift and commit to the full coverage period. Assignment Highlights

  • Monday-Thursday : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM
  • No nights, weekends, or call responsibilities
  • Inpatient & outpatient mix
  • Average patient volume : 15 per day
  • EMR : Epic (Oncology module)
  • Prepaid travel and lodging
  • Malpractice insurance provided at no cost
  • HPA Healthcare is a Joint Commission-certified agency
  • Pay ranks in the top 15% of Hem / Onc locum roles nationwide

Skills & Experience

  • Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology required
  • Active North Carolina license or IMLC eligibility
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience post-fellowship required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Familiarity with Epic preferred
  • Comfortable managing a general oncology / hematology patient panel
  • No ICU, critical care, or ED backup required
