Full-Time Wastewater Treatment Operator

Gettysburg Municipal Authority is seeking a Full-Time Wastewater Treatment Operator.

This position works under the supervision of the Wastewater treatment Supervisor.  Position will assist in all phases and related duties to ensure the safe and efficient operations and maintenance of a 3.0 MGD Activated sludge / extended aeration / SBR wastewater plant, .232 MGD SBR satellite wastewater plant and 7 lift stations throughout the collection system.  Preferred but not required is a current PA DEP Wastewater Operations license Class B, E including Sub Class 1 and 4 with the ability and desire to obtain required operator’s license.  Knowledge of maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and process control skills are a plus.  The applicant should possess a valid PA driver’s license; computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel with the ability to learn internal software programs.  Applicant must also possess the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, perform work in all weather conditions, provide stable employment, attendance, and pass a complete background investigation (including references, employment, criminal, driving, and pre-employment drug screening test).  Weekend and holiday work as needed, as well as emergency callouts with a response time of less than one hour. Starting base : $25.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience.
