Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring a MI RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Cerner EMR experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work on a 46-bed MS / Tele surgical unit caring for trauma, bariatric, abdominal, amputation, urological, overflow medical, and cardiac patients
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Float to other units within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on census as needed
  • Primary responsibilities include managing trauma surgery, bariatric surgery, abdominal surgery, amputation post-op, and urological patients
  • Module-based orientation required, averaging 3-8 hours, to be completed pre-start
  • Holiday coverage requires willingness to work at least 1 of the 3 holiday shifts if requesting time off
  • Strict professional conduct standards are enforced due to sensitivity of assignment
  • Team-based environment supporting complex surgical and medical overflow patients

  • Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
  • Current certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent MS / Tele nursing experience required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Must not have been employed by the facility in the past 3 years
