Summary :
Join our dedicated team in providing exceptional pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill patients across all age groups including adults, pediatrics, and neonates. Under the supervision of a physician, you will assess patients and implement effective respiratory care plans with minimal oversight. Your expertise will be utilized in performing various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures throughout our hospital.
Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate proficiency in OneCHRISTUS Competencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
 - Key responsibilities include :
 - Responding to emergency situations (Code Blue and White);
 - Managing airway procedures including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning;
 - Administering aerosolized medications;
 - Setting up and managing ventilators;
 - Providing oral hygiene care;
 - Placing and maintaining airway retaining devices;
 - Managing airway support devices such as BiPAP and CPAP;
 - Operating oxygen delivery devices and performing therapeutic monitoring;
 - Conducting chest film analysis;
 - Collecting and analyzing blood gas samples;
 - Performing EKG analysis;
 - Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation;
 - Cleaning and stocking supplies and equipment as needed;
 - Participating in CAP and JC surveys.
 - Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) may take on leadership roles as Shift Leaders or Team Leaders.
 - The advanced practice skills may encompass :
 - Therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including INO and HeO2;
 - Pulmonary Function Testing;
 - Assisting with bronchoscopy procedures;
 - Conducting hemodynamic monitoring;
 - Performing waveform analysis;
 - Evaluating nocturnal SpO2 (Desaturation Studies);
 - Executing polysomnography;
 - Transporting patients safely.
 
Job Requirements : Education / Skills :
Must possess the necessary licensure and / or certification as per state requirements.Experience :
1 - 3 years of experience is preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications :
RT or RCP License in the state of employment is required.BLS certification is mandatory.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC is required.As per the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy, all associates must secure the required certifications for their roles within the stipulated timeframe.
Work Schedule : As needed (PRN).
Work Type : Per Diem as needed.
