Job description

Locum - Physician - General Medicine in Houston, TX

Join a dedicated facility focused on serving our nation's Veterans through Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. We are seeking General Medicine Providers to support our mission and provide essential services across the country.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and separation health assessments.
  • Conduct primarily interview-based exams, with some physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
  • Work on a PRN basis, with the option to choose between half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and report preparation, including any necessary addendums.
  • Utilize personal office space effectively; practice location and equipment must be available.
  • Participate in mandatory training to obtain DMA certification.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
  • Active and unrestricted full license in Texas.
  • AANP certification required.
  • Must own a laptop (non-Mac / Apple products).
  • Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine experience.

  • Current Texas medical license.
  • AANP Certification.
  • DMA certification required after initial training.
