Overview :

Responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance, and supporting institutional reporting and audits in a not-for-profit academic environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month / year-end close processes.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal / state regulations, institutional policies, and not-for-profit accounting standards.

Lead preparation for external audits, tax filings (e.g., IRS 990 / 990-T), and NCAA financial reporting.

Maintain internal controls, develop financial policies, and ensure Uniform Guidance adherence.

Supervise accounting staff and support leadership with financial analysis and special projects.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred).

5–7 years relevant experience.

Strong Excel skills; knowledge of Ellucian Colleague® a plus.

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Able to work independently and collaboratively across all levels.
