JOB TITLE : Shift Leader

Shift 4 : Thursday-Saturday, Every Other Wednesday 5PM-5 : 30AM

JOB SUMMARY

This role will execute the strategic vision for the plant and drive systemic improvements related to efficiency, quality, safety, cost, and employee engagement. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for oversight of highly technical operations - spanning 1 or more shifts and up to 30 personnel. You will also be responsible for supporting and achieving cross-functional alignment, team goals, and organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead a highly technical team :

Lead, attend, and participate in performance metrics review meetings.

  • Has in-depth understanding of the technical functionality of the automated equipment, works closely with the maintenance team and automation production team to continuously improve uptime.
  • Build and maintain strong cross functional relationships to help drive business / operational results.
  • Proactively communicate relevant operational information and escalate issues with direct, cross-functional and plant leadership teams.
  • Drive operational and quality excellence :
  • Leads and champions the pursuit of operational excellence for a production team.

  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset and enthusiastic approach to problem solving.
  • Utilize Lean tools to improve operational performance including 6S, daily metrics, line balancing, process waste removal and standard work, etc.
  • Have a firm understanding of all relevant sources of process data, monitor trends, and coordinate with the appropriate resources to drive improvement.
  • Accountable for ensuring accurate data management and entry into relevant systems.
  • Meet Cost Commitments :
  • Take ownership of your team's performance against key metrics and ensure the team understands how they contribute to success daily.

  • Provide input into annual budget process.
  • Ensure labor resources are aligned with the supply plan and customer demand daily and monthly.
  • Monitor machine scrap and performance data daily and act / collaborate as necessary to ensure efficiency targets are met.
  • Ensures operations schedules are met within budget through appropriate use of human and technology resources, scheduling and effective problem solving.
  • Deliver High Quality Supply
  • Maintain GMP, GDP and quality standards.

  • Participate in non-conformance investigations and facilitate the implementation of corrective action plans where appropriate.
  • Understand / interpret SPC data and take action to ensure your operation maintains maximum process control and product quality.
  • Acts as the Voice of the Customer and Subject Matter Expert for processes and partnerships within the business.
  • Track progress to manufacturing schedule and take necessary action to ensure supply plan has been met.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and engagement
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts / conditions and performing routine safety audits.
  • Possess the ability to coach and develop front line leaders and operators to improve quality, production and safety.

  • In conjunction with employee development plans, provide opportunities for employees to participate on cross functional teams.
  • Communicate effectively across multiple shifts and departments.
  • Ensure accountability of associates regarding training timeliness and adherence to company policies.
  • Manage team's performance, including completing annual and mid-year reviews.
  • Maintain safety procedures and ensure production area is clean and organized daily.
  • Ensure all safety incidents and observations are reported and documented appropriately.
  • Drive departmental safety culture by setting goals, monitoring key safety metrics, identifying trends, and implement improvements.
  • Solicit feedback from employees regarding safety improvements and manufacturing process improvements on a regular basis.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree, or e quivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience.
  • 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Requires experience in automated operations environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and maintained competencies in all areas defined at the Production Lead level or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Exposure of Lean / Six Sigma practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of managing in a regulatory environment preferred.
  • Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise associates.
  • Requires working knowledge of the business's products and their use.
  • Demonstrated leadership and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of performance reports and how activities in area of responsibility affect them.
  • Experience and knowledge oftechnology and methods applicable to the area.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of process automation.
  • Maintainsworking knowledge of quality management techniques and ability to develop quality and productivity goals and measures.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply statistical methodologies to manufacturing volumes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Provenability to lead and mentor others.
  • Expertknowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines and practices.
  • Pro-active approach withstrong problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety practices.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Manufacturing Environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching / reaching, and hand / finger dexterity.

  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
  • Requires ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to work under florescent lighting.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.

    Target Pay Range : $94,100.00to$117,600.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

    Target Bonus on Base : 7.0%
