The Surgical Technician is a person who has completed the academic and clinical requirements to function as a member of the surgical team.

The Surgical Technician reports to a registered nurse.

Inventory and distribution / delivery of medications may be required.

Candidates must have graduated from a certified surgical tech program conducted by a community college, vocational school, military program, or hospital school.

Operating Room Technicians with documented on-the-job experience may also be accepted.

Six contact hours of continuing education or three college credits related to the nursing field per year are encouraged.

Full-time employees working a minimum number of hours per pay period are eligible for benefits.
