BILINGUAL Medical Assistant | Winter Haven, FL | $19-$21 / hour | Temporary-Perm
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced clinical setting. This is a safety-sensitive role responsible for both administrative and clinical support, reporting directly to the Office Manager.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Greet and prepare patients for provider exams, collecting detailed history and vitals
- Document all information accurately in the EMR system
- Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Administer medications (oral and injectable) and assist with in-office procedures
- Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, pulse oximetry, peak flow, inhalation treatments)
- Draw blood and process lab specimens for in-office or send-out labs
- Maintain sterilization and cleanliness of instruments and exam rooms
- Handle front desk operations : answering phones, appointment scheduling, patient check-in / out
- Provide patient education as instructed by the provider
- Assist with medication management, referrals, and care coordination
- Monitor and order medical supplies, office medications, and inventory
- Support onboarding and training of new team members
- Participate in phone-based outreach (medication & appointment reminders, transitional care calls)
- Assist in maintaining patient medical records in compliance with policies and regulations
Required Qualifications :
HS diploma or equivalentCompletion of an accredited MA programBilingual in English and Spanish requiredMinimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical AssistantBasic knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and medical codingPhlebotomy and IV start experience preferredStrong computer skills; experience with EMR systemsCurrent CPR certification preferred#LM

At least one year of clinical medical assisting experience
Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.Change dressings on wounds.Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.Schedule appointments for patients.Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.Set up medical laboratory equipment.
